Madhuvanti Pal is a rudra veena player, builder, and dhrupad teacher from Kolkata.

Whether through painting, sculpting, modeling, or music, Madhuvanti has always been an artist. Her musical study began with khayal, where she refined her skills on violin and bansuri, but found herself irresistibly drawn to the mesmerizing sound of the rudra veena—a rare and extraordinary instrument of North Indian Classical Music. She felt propelled toward a musical destiny she could no longer ignore.

Undeterred by financial and cultural restraints, Madhuvanti embraced the challenge to build her own rudra veena. Guided by the venerable Pt. Rajshekar Vyas, she challenged convention and created a veena customized for her unique playing style.

After years of dedicated study with Pt. Bala Chander, the Gundecha Brothers, and Vidushi Mita Nag, she has earned a place as one of the leading dhrupad artists today.
